The machine is an Apple M1 Max — 10 CPU cores, 64 GB unified memory — on a wired connection, rented to a single team. For as long as you rent it, the box is yours alone: your jobs are never queued behind another customer, and no other tenant ever runs on the hardware.
It suits teams building for iOS and macOS whose hosted-runner bill has become a line item, teams displaced by hosted-Mac providers shutting down, and teams that want an always-on macOS box for agent development.
How it works
Your org, your secrets, ephemeral VMs
Nothing on the machine is exposed to the public internet.
Jobs run in ephemeral macOS virtual machines with Xcode preinstalled. You register the GitHub Actions runner inside the VM under your own GitHub organization — your certificates, tokens and secrets stay in your org and are never shared with us. Each VM is destroyed after use.
Access is over Tailscale, outbound-only; the machine exposes nothing to the public internet.
Apple permits two concurrent macOS VMs per host, so the box runs up to two CI jobs in parallel — both yours.
The math
Arithmetic, not a benchmark
GitHub's published rate for hosted macOS runners is $0.16 per minute. Minutes on a self-hosted runner are not billed by GitHub at all.
